I would like to welcome you the DAV Department of Wisconsin website and my new Adjutant’s blog.

Please take some time to visit the different items on our Department website at www.davwi.org. More dramatic changes are coming soon.

If you see something that you have a question about please contact me at cadwell2929@sbcglobal.net.

Facebook

The DAV Department of Wisconsin is now on Facebook, if you would like to post information there feel free to do so.

The posting should be DAV related, please use this as a guideline.

Our Facebook page is at Disabled American Veterans Department of Wisconsin (http://www.facebook.com/#!/DAV.WI).

Fall Conference

I would like to thank the staff and many other people who assisted me with Fall Conference.

The panel was outstanding (including the panel by CDMRP’s Dr. J.B. Phillips), and the questions were outstanding.

I would like to get your input for the 2011 Fall Conference.  Drop me a line and let me know who you would like to have there for speakers.

The raffle this year generated over $60,000!  I would like to thank Clarence Stoel for direction in making this happen. We will purchasing eight new vans this year, and have taken the steps to sell our used vans at Manheim Auto Auction. I would like to thank Kevin Walkowski, for his assistance, with this project.

DAV-Wis. Government Relations

We have a new Department of Wisconsin Government Relations blog for updates on DAV-Wisconsin’s federal, state, and local government activities and updates important to our veterans’ community.

It’s linked online from our DAV webpage, or you can go to it directly at http://davwi.blogspot.com.

Please take a few minutes to look and participate in our newest forum form information. I would like to thank DAV Department Special Assistant Anthony Hardie for putting this together.

WARNING TO VETERANS FROM VA

An organization called Veterans Affairs Services (VAS) is providing benefit and general information on VA and gathering personal information on veterans.

This organization is not affiliated with VA in any way.
http://www.vaservices.org/us/index.html

VAS may be gaining access to military personnel through their close resemblance to the VA name and seal. Our VA Legal Counsel has requested that we coordinate with DoD to inform military installations, particularly mobilization sites, of this group and their lack of affiliation or endorsement by VA to provide any services.
